my mom, and then less than a year later I, developed an itchy flaky scalp rash. not sure why, or why it happens almost at the same time. my mom sought out a dermatologist who prescribed this gooey ointment for her scalp, which makes her clean hair look like it hasn't been washed in a week, and weighs her hair down terribly, not a plus for someone with already fine, limp hair. not being a fan of Drs, I went another route, doing online searches and looking for products to treat this condition. I started using this line of shampoo/conditioner about 6 months ago after reading about in a reviewer's comments on another product. after using it 2-3 x a week for about 6 weeks (I don't wash my hair every time I shower) I found that the red, flaky patches on my scalp were mostly gone, and the itching had also stopped. I'm continuing to use this product, and it continues to keep this scalp condition at bay - with no change of diet/lifestyle, and no medications. on a recent visit with my mom, she mentioned that she was still struggling with the condition, as well as now suffering the "cure" for it, which was almost worse than the disease, so I ordered the shampoo and conditioner for her. she, like me, doesn't wash her hair more than 2-3x a week, and it's only been about 2 wks since she received it, but I'm waiting for the day when I get her phone call saying "it's a miracle! it's almost completely gone!" because that's the reaction I had after a few weeks of using it. I can't speak to new hair growth, or exceptional thickness because I haven't noticed those effects. luckily, I didn't get my mom's thin, fine German hair, I inherited the thicker, fuller (darker) Italian hair from dad's side of the family. I'm waiting for the call from my mom any day now, tho, because I'm 100% convinced that it's coming after she sees the results I saw. The only thing I balk at is the price. I'm not used to spending this kind of $ on hair products. but it does what I buy it to do, so I guess I have to say it's worth the steep price. if it treats irritated skin AND helps regrow hair, which so many other reviewers claim it does, it truly is a miracle in a plastic bottle. so whatever the price, you can't go wrong.
