I’m a 27 year old female from the Midwest and I’ve had platinum blonde hair for about 10 years now. My natural hair color is a dishwater ash blonde so oftentimes I’ll let my hair grow out a couple inches between each dye job into an ombré situation to minimize damage. I really love surface hairs products so I was very excited to try their violet line and these didn’t disappoint! Often toning shampoos will be great at depositing color but not that great at actual cleansing. Meanwhile this formula has the best of both worlds! I usually dispense about a quarter size amount onto my palm and start working it through my hair from the roots to the ends before piling my hair on top of my head and leaving it to soak while I shave. After rinsing I don’t experience any gross waxy residue or straw like strands - just soft, silky smooth hair that’s easier to detangle and manage altogether. The toning factor is excellent - any sign of brass I have before getting in the shower is completely gone and in its place is cool blonde color. I absolutely love Surface Hair's Violet Shampoo. I'm 43 years old and I've bleached my hair for almost 30 years now. I color mine at home, so I always end up with orange and brassiness. This was so fun! I have never tried anything like this before. I have blond hair but it's been looking darker and duller and flyaway is what it loves to it. So I am in my hair era trying to get it to a better place. It's really long but really fine and kind of thinning. It's dry but my scalp can get greasy. I only wash my hair every other day because it gets to dry. I have hard water I think that is playing a part. This shampoo is very thick and dark violet but suds up really nicely and is thick enough to let sit for 2 to 5 mins. It rinses out really well and does a really good job cleaning.
