I struggle with very unbalanced hair, meaning I have dry ends but an incredibly oily scalp. I’ve been using the Surface Awaken Scalp Treatment for several months at the recommendation of my hair stylist. - So naturally I was super excited to add the Awaken Shampoo + Masque to my hair regimen. I don’t wash my hair everyday, maybe 2-3 times a week, so I’ve only used the shampoo a few times so far. While I can’t speak to the hair growth capabilities of this product just yet, I can say that you can definitely feel the menthol and capsicum in the formula working to detox and stimulate your scalp while you shampoo. The awaken therapeutic shampoo by surface hair is great for thinning hair and to achieve a healthy scalp. I have been experiencing more hair loss than usual. My hair is pretty thick, but I have been looking into products to help prevent any further hair loss and to help strengthen my hair more. Right off the bat this shampoo has a minty and refreshing scent. The shampoo lathers up really well. Surface Awaken shampoo is my new favorite shampoo! As a girl with thinning hair I am always trying to find shampoo that won’t cause further hair loss. Right off the bat I loved the way this shampoo lathered into my scalp, it felt tingly and invigorating.The formula has peppermint and capsicum which give that tingly feeling ok the scalp. However, they don’t just feel good on the scalp they also work to stimulate the scalp and hair follicles for hair growth. According to the brand the formula also works to reduce DHT. DHT is a hormone that plays a role in baldness and hairloss. The way I used this was I lathered the shampoo onto my entire scalp for about a minute at least, I followed it with the Surface hair  Masque in the shower which, I let sit for about 10 mins. I did the rest of my routine while the mask sat. After using this for a few days in a row ny hair felt thicker and I did notice less hair strands on my brush!

The Awaken Shampoo by Surface Hair is really good. I’ve found that this shampoo lathered well and it also had my scalp feeling clean. This product doesn’t contain any harsh ingredients that are bad for you which makes this a bigger bonus for me. It is on the thicker side of shampoos but I have thicker hair so it works for me. The peppermint left almost a cooling effect on my scalp even after I had washed it out. I love that even though I double wash, my hair didn’t feel too dry. This shampoo definitely felt like it was very stimulating to my scalp. The frizz to my hair is less and I’ve noticed that my hair feels clean unlike when I’ve used some name brand shampoos that leave a weird feel on your hair. I will be replacing my current shampoo with this one.

Really enjoyed using the Awaken Shampoo by Surface Hair. I struggle with dry hair, dandruff and an oily scalp. I can typically go 2 days before my hair becomes heavy and loses its volume but this shampoo extended the time between washes and kept my scalp feeling clean and refreshed. The formula is also clean and does not contain harsh ingredients which is a huge plus! The peppermint left my scalp feeling cool and refreshed but I cant say i personally liked the feeling, just keep that in mind it may be suprising to have a cooling sensation linger after rinsing. The shampoo is thick and lathers well, a quarter sized amount was perfect for my shoulder length hair so I think this would last longer than drugstore shampoo. I would recommend the Awaken line for anyone who struggles with dandruff and is looking for a clean alternative.
