This product was new to me. I’ve never used any cleansing hair products other than shampoo. But I’m not mad at the product AT ALL!!! It foamed a little but not too much, it was more so creamy. Closer to the texture of conditioner. The only bad thing for me, was that the product was a little in the heavier side, so it took a while for me to evenly distribute it through my hair. But I’ll take that any day if I have more noticeably clean hair that’s also getting moisturized at the same time. I love this product as like a cowash on days or weeks when you don’t really need to wash your hair again BUT you need the wash day routine for the style you would like to accomplish. And last but not least, just like the rest of the products in the Surface Curls line, this product smells sooooo good.

The first thing I noticed about this product was the sleek packaging. I noticed the scent immediately after. It smells soooooo good. If you are a gourmand girl you are going to love this ! It has a sweet chocolatey smell. I contributed that to the cocoa butter in it. But I could not stop smelling my hair . This is a cleansing cream not a shampoo ! I had to keep reminding myself of that because I expected it to behave like a shampoo. Though it left my hair feeling clean and refreshed it did not lather as nicely as I wanted it too . I would say it is more like a cowash than a shampoo. If you have a lot of product build up this probably wouldn’t do much . Ok my Picture below shows the cycle of my 3C hair . I’m Biracial so my hair is curly , coily and course. So being able to use the cream cleanser and it not strip my oils or dry out my hair by doing a Co Wash on my hair with this product was amazing. Texture- Super smooth , easy to blending into my curls and rub into my hair . Smell - Wow , I wish I could have a perfume or hair perfume of this smell . I am a thirty four year old beauty enthusiast who has straight/slightly waived hair. I love curling my hair to change up my look. My scalp got really clean when I used this as my conditioner. I like the thick texture and the scent is absolutely amazing. I have very thick, dry, thirsty 4C coily hair that needs all the moisture it can get. It was easy to detangle my hair in the shower. I felt I needed less product than I usually do which is greatly appreciated since coily hair can go through a huge amount of conditioner. It has made washing my hair a more enjoyable experience. I usually wet my hair in the shower to apply it, I Start from the scalp and use my fingertips to scrub to cleanse my scalp, I let the rest of the product run down my strands so I won't dry it out, Then after my hair starts to dry I begin putting my hair in a protective style and put a leave-in conditioner in my hair. This cleansing cream was absolutely everything for my hair. After using it, my hair felt incredibly soft. My hair naturally struggles in the winter and it gets really dry, so this product is great because it softens my hair and also makes it feel moisturized. A little goes a long way as I did not even have to use that much product. I used about a pearl sized worth, maybe slightly more, and it was able to spread throughout my whole head. The consistency is pretty much like a regular conditioner consistency where it is not watery but not too thick. The cleanser definitely does not lather at all and it is very easy to rub and massage into your scalp. It is basically a cleanser that works and has properties like that of a conditioner.
