This was my first time trying a product from Surface Hair and I was blown away! I have long color treated blonde hair that has some damage and is very dry and I always have to use high end products and a lot of it just to maintain my hair. I have tried many different hair oils and this is now my favorite. It first off smells amazing, I don’t know how to describe it but it’s a bit fruity and just smells so fresh and clean. This oil has incredible ingredients such as Babassu oil, morninga oil, flaxseed oil and Amaranthan protein which is all very healing to our hair as it strengthens and nourishes dry and damaged hair and in general makes our hair healthier. It also gave my hair nice shine without feeling and looking greasy which I love. I can’t wait to continue using this and seeing how much healthier my hair will look over time!

My greatest pleasure is to test new products and share my honest opinion with others.The most recent product I’ve tried was the Surface Bassu Hydrating Oil. Surface claimed this product is not only versatile - meaning you can use it from head to toe if you wanted - use it on your tattoos to bring them back to life, to tame that beard (yes, I'm one of those women who love men with beards) and when using it in your hair, this oil provides both moisture and protects hair color, while leaving your hair looking silky, touchable, and healthy. First of all, I love a product that serves more than one purpose and I love all oil-based products. As far as using this for myself, I found that this was the perfect oil consistency for my hair type. It’s not too thick and super lightweight, so you can use it on wet or dry hair. It’s effective for using it before styling to coat my hair strands for protection purposes and also as an after styling, touch-up product. Although it’s lightweight, a little product goes a long way and really gives life back to my over-processed ends. After I put it on my ends, because it is so lightweight, it also makes for the perfect hair oil for taming those flyaways, without making my hair look unwashed or greasy. If you can imagine how this product could bring life back to a tattoo? That’s what it was able to do to my dull, over-processed hair. It’s especially perfect for someone like me who doesn’t get a haircut as much as I should.I will be rating this 5 stars not only for its versatility, but because not all hair oils are created equal. There are plenty of thick, heavy oils on the market. It’s nice to have one in my arsenal that is both a treatment and styling aid all in one. To give you an idea, I have long hair, not insanely thick, definitely not thin with a slight natural wave. My trouble areas have always been my ends & Surface has been my new saving grace. I will most definitely start recommend this to others.

My thought on the Bassu hydrating oil. First off was so excited to try it because last year I had gotten my hair bleached to a blonde/caramel color and the stylist didn’t let me know that my hair would come out very stretchy and super dry (yes I know you should expect it to be a little dry when bleaching your hair) but it shouldn’t have been as bad as it was. I’m currently trying to get my hair back to a somewhat normal state and to me this product helped so much! First off I thought the packaging of the product was very simple yet clean looking. I also thought the cap was made perfect because you can easily open and close it by twisting the top and since the hole at the top was small it didn’t let too much of the oil overpour. The oil at first had an off smell but then as I rubbed it in my hands so I could apply it to my hair it ended up smelling fruity/fresh! After applying it to my hair and letting it dry it left my hair feeling so soft and I would barely have any tangles when running my hand through my dry hair! Overall I would highly recommend getting this oil!

As a beauty enthusiast with dry, wavy hair, I’m always on the lookout for products that hydrate tresses and fight frizz. This lightweight hydrating oil really fits the bill. Made with babassu oil and flax oil, this treatment smooths and shines up my hair without weighing it down. It doesn’t feel slick or greasy in my hair, either. It soaks in quickly, leaving my hair less frizzy and less dry than before. This versatile oil can also be used on the face and body. I like it as a cuticle oil, and it can be used to condition a beard (if you have one). While I don’t have color-treated hair right now, it’s also supposed to be good for sealing in color. It has a fruity scent that’s familiar, but I can’t quite place it (and it does contain added fragrance, though it’s not overwhelming). Overall, I’m very happy with this treatment for my hair and elsewhere, too.

Have been enjoying this so far. I've learned that lightly coating your hair every night really helps in protecting your hair while you sleep since you can be turning and have your hair be tugged on. This helps prevent split ends from forming since your hair is hydrated, not dry and frizzy, and slick (preventing roughness and friction between things). It also helps detangled so your hair doesn't split. Since my hair is more on the thinner side, so a little is good for me and goes a long way. Leaves my hair shiny and soft. This isn't heavy for my hair and I'm is happy with it. This does have a scent to it, but it's not bad for me anyways. I also like the nozzle to help control how much I get since a pump is already more set and can be harder to control the amount.

I am a beauty enthusiast who is obsessed with haircare, and I would love to say that this is one of the top hair oils I have ever tried! First of all, this oil is very lightweight. I add this oil to my scalp to absorb before taking a shower, and I do not feel any types of greasiness. Second, this hair oil has helped a lot with my overall hair density. This oil does for the hair what skincare products do to help you achieve glass skin. This oil is amazing. There is literally nothing I don’t like about it. For reference, I have long naturally wavy color treated hair. My mid lengths to ends tend to run on the drier side due to bleach and excessive heat while my scalp is on the more oily side. I have been applying this product (mid lengths down) to damp hair and styling  and to dry overnight curls and waves to loosen them up. I absolutely love the smell. It has a subtle  sweet smell to me, which is my scent preference for any type of hair and bath & body product. This makes my hair so soft and gives me almost a wet shine. A little goes a long way. So be careful not to apply too much because if you go overboard you could end up looking greasy. I am so glad BeautyTap introduced me to this brand because I will definitely be checking out more products by them.

I was given the opportunity to try their Bassu Hydrating Oil. I was very eager to try. I have long wavy hair and at times my hair tends to get frizzy, dry and very tangled. So when I received the oil, I immediately tried. Amazing! After I toweled dried my hair, I applied a few drops to and worked it thru. I couldn’t believe how my hair was detangling immediately. Really love the clear packaging of this oil, for some reason I love being able to see the actual product that I'm using so this was perfect. The oil itself isn't sticky or heavy, and it's small enough to fit in your purse or on your countertop if you have limited room or a small space. The oil is lightly fragranced, sort of like a flowery light airy smell. I used the oil for shine and to bring some life back to my hair, but my husband really loved this oil, surpringly for his scalp as well! He complimented how light it was, how it helped with his dry scalp, how convenient it was and he also really loved the smell! That being said, this oil is great for all genders. So I usually do not use hair oils that much, because my scalp tends to get greasy/weighted down when I use hair oil products even though my hair/hair ends are on the dry/frizzy side. But the Bassu hydrating oil is a great one for me!! The lightweight formula absorbs real quickly and leaves my hair feeling soft, smooth, and nourished without leaving behind any greasy residue. I love the natural key ingredients in this oil’s formula. Some of those include Babassu Oil, which is plentiful in good fatty acids and vitamins that help nourish and hydrate the hair strands. Others include Coconut Oil and Argan Oil, which helps to repair and strengthen damaged/frizzy hair. This oil gives my hair the sleek look I've been looking for! It handles both flyaways and frizz with ease. I've been using 10 drops per application for my low porosity collar bone length fine hair. I don't think I need that much though. I like using this product on days I want to slick back my hair in a ponytail. No baby hairs in sight!
